Located in the southernmost part of the Rioja Alavesa region and bordered by the Ebro River, Baños de Ebro was a trading and commercial hub in Roman times.

It boasts a rich agricultural tradition and is privileged to be one of the villages with the highest number of wineries in the entire region. It encompasses a small area of nearly 10 square kilometres and is entirely devoted to the cultivation of vines and the production of high-quality wines.

The abundance of water, nature, culture, wine, and gastronomy makes the town of Baños de Ebro a unique location.

The most characteristic monuments include the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Antigua, in the Romanesque-Gothic style and erected in the 16th century. Its interior contains the main altarpiece and a parchment concealed within its walls, which forms part of popular culture. It reflects the evolution of the population over time.

The San Cristóbal Hermitage, rebuilt at the beginning of the last century by the local people after its unexpected collapse, is well worth a visit. The town's biggest festival takes place here every 10 July, in honour of the saint after whom it is named (St. Christopher).

Traces of the past are amply reflected in the so-called ‘calaos’. These are underground wine-producing facilities hand-excavated beneath the old wineries, where the wine was stored at a temperature that never exceeded 18 degrees Celsius, thanks to their underground location.
